Lillian M. Martin, age 88 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
Lillian M. Rose was born September 8, 1927 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Frank F. and Mary (Janousek) Rose. She grew up and attended school in Grafton. Following her education, she worked various part-time jobs. She was united in marriage to Cecil Martin on November 14, 1946 in Grafton where the couple made their home and raised their five children. Cecil passed away on May 13, 2007 and Lillian continued to make her home in Grafton until her death.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. She enjoyed crocheting, square dancing, playing cards and Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Wayne (Sharon) Martin, Grafton, ND, Barb Ellingson, Fargo, ND, Gary Martin, Marvin Martin, and Tim (Kim) Martin, all of Grafton, ND, grandchildren: Rebecca Martin, Kelly (Holly) Martin, Kimberly Ellingson, Jamie (Randall) Greenley, Erica (Scott) McDaniels, Samantha Ellingson, Michelle (James) Hensal, Shaun Martin, Kari (Jason) Krolak, Nicholette (David) Boura, Alexandra Martin, great grandchildren: Jade, Boeden, Griffin, Drake, Mylan, Murphy, Easton, Asher, Luke, and Zachary, sisters: Marion Devos, Crookston, MN and Marcella Dunrud, Thief River Falls, MN, sister-in-law Nora Rose, Grafton, ND and brother-in-laws: Ernest Martin, Grafton, ND and Lawrence Brosius, formerly of Drayton, ND. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, daughter-in-law Jane Martin, son-in-law Richard Ellingson, siblings: Frank Rose, Patricia (Joseph) Devos, Della (Henry) Dietrich, Jerry Rose, Cy Rose, brother-in-laws: Roy Martin, Francis Devos, Kenneth Dunrud, , sister-in-laws: Hazel (Frank) Kilcollins, Elaine Brosius and Eileen St. Vincent.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
