Lillian E. Fisher, age 84 of Grafton, ND, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Lillian Ethel O'Shaughnessy was born August 3, 1930 in Pembina County, the daughter of the late Enos and Vera (Stratton) O'Shaughnessy. She was united in marriage to Edward Fisher on November 23, 1949 in Grafton, ND. The couple lived in Grafton until the dissolution of their Marriage in 1980. Lillian later moved to Clear Lake, MN where she was employed as a nanny and then enjoyed retirement in Sauk Centre, MN and then Grand Forks, ND before moving back to Grafton. Lillian worked as a nursing assistant at the Deaconess and St. Joseph Hospitals and was a member of the Grafton Ambulance Service for many years. She was also at one time a daycare provider, a nanny and an employee of the Grafton State School as well as bartending for several local clubs in town. Lillian was known for her hard work ethic, wonderful cooking and infectious laugh. Her greatest joy in life was her family and especially her grandchildren whom she surrounded with love and laughter, hugs and joy and made every visit special. Lillian is survived by her children: June (Bill) Neal, Sauk Centre, MN; Janice Bjork, Grand Forks, ND; John (Cindy) Fisher, Austin, MN; Steven (Rachel) Fisher, Grafton, ND; David Fisher, Grand Forks, ND; Thomas Fisher, Thief River Falls, MN; Susan (Jason) O'Berg, Albany, MN; Peggy (Denny) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND; brothers and sister: Bob (Sheila) O'Shaughnessy, Bismarck, ND; Jean Swenson, Anoka, MN; Ray (Donna) O'Shaughnessy, Bismarck, ND; and Michael (Diana) O'Shaughnessy, Grand Forks, ND; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Neal; parents, Vera and Enos O'Shaughnessy; brother, Leland O'Shaughnessy and sisters: Rita Faye Melvin and Corrine "Mye" Herbel. Memorial services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Friends may call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Hamilton Cemetery.
