Lila Uggerud

Lila Uggerud, age 87 of Grafton, ND and formerly of Drayton, ND passed away on Monday, December 01, 2014 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Lila Soderfelt was born August 29, 1927 in Rural Saint Thomas, ND, the daughter of the late Eric and Ida (Roswell) Soderfelt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Teien Covenant Church of Rural Drayton. She grew up and attended school in Saint Thomas and Drayton, graduating from Drayton High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Edward Uggerud on November 11, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND. The couple lived and farmed in Rural Drayton. Edward passed away on August 31, 2007. She continued to live on the farm for one year before moving to the Leisure Estates Apartments in Grafton where she resided until her death. She was a member of the Teien Covenant Church and later the Drayton Lutheran Church. She was active in the Ladies Aide at both churches and taught Sunday School for many years, serving as Sunday School Superintendant at Drayton Lutheran Church. She also served as the Luther League Advisor and co-chairperson of the Quilters for many years. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the St. Andrews Homemakers Club. Lila is survived by her children: Ward (Debbie) Uggerud, Fergus Falls, MN, Cheryl (Bill) LaHaise, Grafton, ND, Bryan (Jane) Uggerud, Rural Drayton, ND, grandchildren: Karen (Doug) Shereck, Grafton, ND, Mark (Suzi) Uggerud, Fargo, ND, Tom (Jodi) LaHaise, Grafton, ND, Eric (Christine) Uggerud, Fergus Falls, MN, Heather (Cardy) Bravo, Riverview, FL, Travis (Jenny) Uggerud, Drayton, ND, Casey (Paige) Uggerud, Gilbert, MN, Jodi LaHaise, Grafton, ND, 11 great grandchildren, sisters: LaVonne Anderson and Lorna McFarland, both of Drayton, ND. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, half-brother Kenneth Soderfelt, half-sister Thelma Molerio, 2 sister-in-laws and 4 brother-in-laws. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Drayton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
