Lewis William Einarson

Lewis Einarson, age 90, of Grafton passed away Saturday, October 05, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Lewis William Einarson was born December 9, 1922 in Akra Township, Pembina County, the son of the late Thomas and Annie Belle (Creighton) Einarson. He attended and graduated from Hensel High School. He worked for the WPA before enlisting in the United States Army. Upon his discharge, he returned to the area and worked for various farmers. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Pederson in 1953 in Grafton. The couple made their home in near Hensel, Grand Forks and eventually Grafton. He began working for the State of North Dakota in 1958 as a carpenter, working there until his retirement. He loved spending his time visiting his children and grandchildren. Lewis moved the Lutheran Sunset Home in 2009. He was a member of the Vidalin Lutheran Church, Pembina, County. Lewis is survived by his children: Mary Beth (Charles) Wilson, Grafton, ND; Michael Einarson, Vancouver, WA; Mitchell Einarson, Sudbury, VT; Mylo Einarson, Grand Forks, ND; daughter-in-law, Pat Einarson, Cavalier, ND; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Harold (Edith) Einarson, Edinburg, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marie Louise, son Mark, daughters-in-law: Susan Einarson and Rita Einarson, sibilings: Thomas, Laverne, James and Annabelle. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
