Leslie John Swartz, age 64 of Lankin, ND passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Leslie John Swartz was born May 13, 1954 in Grafton, ND, the son of Mary Rita (Novak) Swartz and the late Glenn Swartz. He attended school in Lankin. After his education he drove truck and then farmed with his father. He continued to make his home on the family farm near Lankin until the time of his death.

He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lankin. He loved his family and friends and was very proud of his grandchildren. He was always the first person to help in the community. He enjoyed ice fishing, Karaoke, drinking coffee with his friends every morning and eating breakfast with his friends in Devils Lake every Sunday.

Leslie is survived by his son, Austin (Alicia) Swartz, Bixby, OK; daughter, Heather (Tony Johnson) Swartz, Park River, ND; grandchildren: Leif Aune, Caleb Ryan and Gentri Swartz; mother, Mary Rita Swartz, Lankin, ND; brother, Greg (Lynette) Swartz, Park River, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Swartz and his grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Lankin. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 4:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Lankin.
