Leroy A. Wiste

Le Roy A. Wiste, age 75 of rural Adams, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home near Adams. LeRoy A. Wiste was born January 4, 1938 in Shepherd Township of Walsh County the son of the late Peter and Mabel (Ward) Wiste. He attended rural school near Adams and in Grafton. Following his education he returned home to farm with his father. LeRoy was united in marriage to Evalon Elton on October 28, 1961 at the Vang Lutheran Church near Fairdale. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm. He also worked for the Adams Farmers Union Fertilizer in the spring and fall. LeRoy helped area farmers during the spud and beet harvest and was most recently working for McMartin Farms. He was a member of the former Vang Lutheran Church where he held several offices and was most recently president of the cemetery board. He was a trustee of the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. He was a member of the Adams Rural Fire Department, served as a 4-H leader for the Adams Lassie 4-H group, was a member of the North Dakota Shorthorn Association and the North Dakota American Quarter Horse Association. LeRoy is survived by his wife Evalon of Adams, ND; children: Susan (Sam) Thiel, Minto, ND; Sheila (Danny) Boger, Garrison, ND; Sharyl (Loren) Shereck, Grand Forks, ND; Timothy (Cassie) Wiste, Fargo, ND; Jason Wiste, Adams, ND; Angela Wiste, Grand Forks, ND; eight grandchildren: Vanessa (Jon) Mattson, Grand Forks, ND; Carissa Thiel, Fargo, ND; Brittany Thill, Grand Forks, ND; Caitlin Wiste, Omaha, NB; Garrett Kadrie, Haakon Livingood, Rilee Wiste and Asher Wiste all of Fargo, ND; sister, Lorraine (Glen) Brett, Kennewick, WA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lila Lee. Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Church in Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Vang Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fairdale, ND.
