Leroy C. Jenson

LeRoy C. Jenson, age 99 of Park River, ND and formerly of Inkster, ND passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at First Care Health Center of Park River. LeRoy C. Jenson was born October 12, 1912 in Niagara, ND the son of the late Andrew and Nancy (McCartney) Jenson. He attended schools in Niagara and Inkster. Following his education he started working for the Great Northern Railroad. LeRoy was united in marriage to Marcella A. Studney on June 20, 1939 in Niagara. The couple made their home in Inkster. LeRoy continued working on the railroad which later became Burlington Northern/Santa Fe. He retired after 35 years with the railroad service. Marcella passed away in 1993 and LeRoy later moved to Park River. In late 2010 he moved into the Good Samaritan Center. LeRoy was a member of the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railways Veterans Association. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his son Ron, collecting license plates, gardening and playing cards. LeRoy is survived by his son Dr. Ronald (Cindy) Jenson, Freeland, MI; two grandchildren: Darrin Jenson, Austin, TX; SueEllen (Richard) Gomez, San Diego, CA; and his great granddaughter Lauren Gomez. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church of Inkster, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Inkster Cemetery.
