Lenore O. Windingland

Lenore O. Windingland, age 85 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in Mountain. Lenore Oline Steen was born September 11, 1923 near Edinburg, ND the daughter of the late Amund and Oline (Holm) Steen. She attended rural school near Edinburg. When Lenore was 10 years old the family moved to Grafton, ND where she continued her education. Lenore was united in marriage to Anders Windingland on January 5, 1945 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grafton. The couple moved to the Edinburg area where they lived and farmed. In 1959 they moved into Edinburg and retired from farming in 1983. Anders passed away on July 4, 1984. Lenore continued to live in Edinburg until 2007 when she moved to the Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in Mountain. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA of Edinburg. She was also active in the Tuesday Morning Bible Study. She is survived by her daughter Lana (Dr. E.J. ) Larson, Edinburg, ND; three grandchildren: Darin (Tammy) Langerud, Bismarck, ND; Angela (Tom) Thompson, Park River, ND and Ryan Langerud, Hankinson, ND; three great grandchildren: Alexa, Steven and Amanda Thompson, sister: Julia Lee, Edinburg, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Anna, Mary, Emma, Amanda, Carrie, Olga, Alda, Myrtle, Alfred, Glenn, Axel and two infant sisters. Funeral services will be Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Garfield Lutheran Cemetery, rural Edinburg.
