Lee E. Elznic

Lee E. Elznic, age 65 of Park River, ND died Tuesday, January 04, 2011 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Lee E. Elznic was born August 6, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND the son of the late William and Lorraine (Ellingson) Elznic. He attended schools in Lankin and Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School. He worked in the Grand Forks area for a time before moving to Park River in the late 1970's. He worked for Kap's Inc. and later worked farm labor for area farmers. He was united in marriage to Ruth Mastre on August 29, 1981 at the Zion Lutheran Church near Hoople. The couple made their home in Park River. Lee is survived by his wife Ruth of Park River, ND; son Chris Turner, Gilbert, MN; brother: David (Kristie) Lansing, Warren, MN; step brothers: Keith (Judy) Papenfuss and Kevin (Kay) Papenfuss, both of Park River, ND; step-sisters: LuJune (Darrell) Bjornson, St. Thomas, ND; Jennifer LaFrenz, Pearsall, TX; and sister-in-law Geraldine Elznic, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and step-father Louis Papenfuss. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Hoople, ND.
