Larry F Schrank

Larry F. Schrank, age 69 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Larry F. Schrank was born October 24, 1947 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Frank and Orla (Tjosheim) Schrank. He grew up and attended school in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School. Following his education he served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1968-1969. While in Vietnam, Larry received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Following his discharge Larry returned home and started farming with his father. He was united in marriage to Vickie Wesolowski. Together they had two children; Brandon and Jennifer. Larry was united in marriage to Cheryl Sandvig on September 7, 2000 in Cavalier, ND. In 1979 Larry started working as a police officer for the City of Grafton, retiring after 30 years of service in 2009. He later worked for Greg Feltman Farms near Warsaw for two years.

Larry had a strong sense of service to his community. He was involved with his unit inVietnam, he served the City of Grafton both as a police officer and was on the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department for many many years. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife Cheryl, Grafton, ND; his children: Brandon (Kristi) Schrank, Grand Forks, ND; Jennifer Schrank, Grafton, ND; his step-son, Nic (Nici) Burns, Grafton, ND and his grandson, Zander Schrank, Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, North Dakota. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Crescent Cemetery, Grafton, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
