Kenneth Lee Shannon

Kenneth Lee Shannon, age 73 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Kenneth Lee Shannon was born July 10, 1943 in Crystal, ND the son of the late George and Annie M. (Sagert) Shannon. He attended schools in Crystal. Kenneth moved to Grafton and started working at Borden’s in 1961. He married Bonnie Greenwood on February 19, 1966 at St. John’s Catholic Church of Grafton. The couple made their home here since. In 1976 Kenneth went to work as a custodian for the Grafton Public Schools and worked there until retiring in 2009.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic church and the Grafton Knights of Columbus.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Grafton, his daughter: Susan (James) Summers, Grafton, ND; his daughter-in-law, Heidi Shannon, Thompson, ND; grandchildren: Derek and Dru Shannon, Thompson, ND; his siblings: Marvin Shannon, Florida, Geraldine (Dwaine) Jenson, Erskine, MN; Linda Nelson, International Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ron.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 24, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, North Dakota.
