Kenneth M Johansen

Kenneth M. Johansen, age 93 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Kenneth M. Johansen was born November 25, 1920 in Edinburg, ND, the son of the late Anton and Margarit (Esptveit) Johansen. He grew up and attended rural school near Edinburg and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School. He then attended the University of North Dakota where he played football while earning his degree. Following his education, he returned home and began farming with his dad and brother. He retired in 1996 and moved into the Good Samaritan Center in December of 2013. He was very proud of his Hereford cattle and attended many cattle shows where he won numerous ribbons. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed watching the deer feed outside his picture window. Kenneth was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arnold and sister Alma. Funeral services will be Monday, February 24, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Edinburg.
