Kenneth L. Heder

Kenneth L. Heder, age 87 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Kenneth Leroy Heder was born December 31, 1922 in Hoople, ND the son of the late Hjalmer and Emma (Grand) Heder. He graduated from Hoople High School. Following his education he worked as farm laborer, managed a café for a time, worked as a field representative for Red River Valley Potato Growers Association, managed the Hoople Produce Company, then worked as a private potato broker for 21 years. He later worked as a sales rep for Maintenance Engineering in Fargo and lastly worked as a self-employed industrial lighting salesman until his retirement. Kenneth was united in marriage to Mary Ann Brezina on August 8, 1953 in Langdon. He was the Past Master of the Grafton Crescent Chapter of Masonic Order, a member of the Kem Temple Shrine of Grand Forks, the Grafton Shriners, the Elks and Eagles. Ken was a big hearted, hard working family man who enjoyed hunting, swimming, snow skiing, fishing, and bowling. He loved his recreational toys including motorcycles, boats, snow planes, snowmobiles, dune buggies and enjoyed horses with sleighs, buggies and cutters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann, Grafton, ND; his children: Michelle (George) Georgeson, Moses Lake, WA; Michael (Patricia) Heder, Sauk Rapids, MN; Mark Heder, Fargo, ND; six grandchildren: Casey Georgeson, Blaine, Corbin, Quinten, Mallory and Makenzy Heder; two sisters: Mary Ann (Donald) Baker, Anchorage, Alaska, and Anna May Duffy, Columbiana, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Leonard, Arvil, Willard, Norris and Harry and sisters: Vearnice, Sylvia and Audrey and grandson Chad. Memorial services will be Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service.
