Kenneth D. Basher

Kenneth D. Basher, SR, age 81 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Kenneth D. Basher Sr. was born September 27, 1932 in Mountain, ND the son of the late Blake and Ida (Johanneson) Basher where he graduated high school. Following his education he moved to Fargo, ND and worked for Hvidsteen Transport. Kenneth was united in marriage to Delores Erbstoesser on July 12, 1952 in Fargo. The couple lived there until transferring to Coon Rapids, MN in 1960. In 1966 the transferred to Grafton, ND and he worked as service manager for the International Harvester Implement. In 1974 he started Ken's Service Center and ran that until 1981 when he went to work as a diesel mechanic for Hanson-Kopperud. After retiring he worked for Monson Farms near Grafton during potato harvest. He was a member of Grafton Lutheran Church and the Grafton Eagle's Club. Kenneth is survived by his children: Danny (Karen) Basher, Baudette, MN; Cheryl (William) Green, Grafton, ND; Karen (John) Kramer, Bay City, MI; Kevin Basher, Grafton, ND; Mechelle (Andy) Komanetz, Grafton ,ND; Melanie (John) Mients, Paw Paw, MI, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sister, Betty (Al) Rinling, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Delores on May 14, 2012, his son, Kenneth M. Basher, grandsons: Michael J "Klicker" Basher, Wayne Basher, 3 infant grandsons and his brother Keith Basher. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
