Kelma Rebella (Sholey) McGregor left us to be with the Lord on March 4, 2011 at the age of 96. Kelma was born in Fairdale, ND on March 3, 1915 to Olaf and Minnie (Dammen) Sholey. Kelma lived in Derreck, ND before moving to a farm near Edmore, ND. She received her education in Fairdale and Highland Township schools. She married James E. McGregor on March 12, 1935. They lived on a farm near Fairdale, and the cities of Adams, Devils Lake, and Grafton, ND, with the majority of their life in Grafton. They were married 51 years until James' death in 1986. After James' death she would spend the winter months with her children in California, Montana or Utah. About 2005, Kelma made a permanent move to spend the rest of her years sharing her life and living with her two daughters and son in their homes. Kelma loved the Lord and throughout her life displayed this love teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and joining the Ladies Aid both at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grafton. She also held an officer's positions for the Ladies Aid at Our Saviour's Lutheran. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and always welcomed anyone into her home. Because she loved children, especially babies, she was always available for babysitting. Kelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-father, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her three children: Phyllis (Robert) Burns, Mission Viejo, CA; JoAnne (Gil) Chevis, Moreno Valley, CA; James (Cheri) McGregor, St. George, UT; six grandchildren: Sheri (Robert) Serdoz, Todd Chevis, Scott McGregor, Debbie Denning, Brandy (Janice) McGregor and Jennifer (Leon) Maxwell; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Adeline Tollefson, Great Falls, MT and Adeline Sholey, Strasburg, ND. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was a beautiful person and will be missed by all. Visitaion will be Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
