Katherine C Lunski

Katherine C. Lunski, age 85 of Grand Forks and formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Katherine C. Nelson was born Feb. 23, 1935 in Warren, MN the daughter of the late Noble and Irene (Bergman) Nelson. She graduated from Alvarado High School. Following her education she moved to Grafton and worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Katherine married Florian T. “FT” Lunski on Sept. 14, 1957 in Grafton. The couple made their home here. She worked in the laundry at the Grafton Developmental Center until 2000 when she retired. She took a part-time job at the Lutheran Sunset Home and worked there for several years.

Katherine is survived by her sons: Brian (Dawn) Lunski, Grafton, ND; and Dean (Amy) Lunski, Hopkins, MN; her grandchildren: Kayla (Jonathan) Lunski, Joe (Brooke) Lunski, MacKenzie (Cody) Paulson, Brooke Lunski, George Lunski, Rocky Lunski, Jude Lunski and Giana Lunski, her siblings: Wayne (Judy) Nelson, Oslo, MN; Ilene (Carl) Sherlock, East Grand Forks, MN; and Sandy Roiger, Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons: Robert and Randy.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Inurnment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. The service will be live streamed at 2:00 PM on the Tollefson Funeral Home Inc. facebook page and a video will be posted to the website following the service.
