Judy A. O’Toole age 73 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her home in Grafton after a courageous battle with cancer.
Judy A. Cernik was born January 29, 1943 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Lloyd and Blanche (Lacourse) Cernik. She grew up and attended school, graduating from Grafton High School. Judy worked for a short time at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. prior to her marriage to Robert O’Toole on July 6, 1963 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Crystal, ND where they farmed. In 2005 they moved to Grafton, ND.
Judy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She volunteered on the funeral lunch committee. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Crystal, ND where she was active with the Altar Society. She enjoyed camping in the summer months with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending the last 22 winters in Texas.
Judy is survived by her husband, Robert, Grafton, ND; children: Dean (Tauna) O’Toole, Fargo, ND; Dan O’Toole, Thompson, ND; Carol (Shane) Jopp, West Fargo, ND; Gene (Tammie) O’Toole, Grafton, ND; six grandchildren: Eric O’Toole (Melanie Hengel), Nicole, Emily, Kadin, Ryan and Katie O’Toole; her siblings: Jim (Terri) Cernik, Fargo, ND; Mary Jane (Richard) Ferguson, Fargo, ND; John “Jackie” (Sherry) Cernik, Lakeland, FL; Susan (Gary) Barsness, St. Cloud, MN; Janet (Arnie) Gerszewski, Grafton, ND; Monica (Dan) Gorder, Grafton, ND; her sister-in-law, LaVonne Cernik, West Fargo, ND. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gene, granddaughter, Megan O’Toole, daughter-in-law, Stephanie O’Toole, sister-in-law, Connie Cernik, and nephew, Greg Ferguson .
Mass of Christian Burial will be: Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Crystal, North Dakota. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Altru Hospice-Grafton Unit, St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund, St. John’s Kitchen Fund or St. John’s Cemetery Fund.
