Judith K Mcmillian

Judith K. “Judy” McMillian, age 73 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton after a courageous battle with cancer.

Judy Tanke was born March 23, 1946 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late George and Jean (Schultz) Tanke. She attended country school near Grafton and later Grafton Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Larry McMillian. Judy made her home in Grafton. Her strong work ethic was shown in the dedicated service she gave in the cafeteria at Grafton Public Schools. Her love of cooking carried over to the meals she prepared for her family. During her 41 years with the school district, she was also a bus driver and enjoyed the added bonus of taking the Spoiler teams to activities. Judy retired from the Grafton Public Schools in 2016.

Judy is survived by her children: Todd McMillian, Fargo, ND, Donovan (Heather) McMillian, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Tara McMillian, Grand Forks, ND, Jenna McMillian, Grand Forks, ND, Shawnee McMillian, Duluth, MN, Aidan and Addison McMillian, Grafton, ND; siblings: Georgia (Randy) Aho, Crookston, MN and Gayle (Don) Beneda, Lankin, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and sister Sandy Estad.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Unity Medical Center Foundation.
