Judith A Mattson

Judith A. “Judy” Mattson, age 69 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Judy Lorenzen was born October 3, 1951 in Drayton, ND. She was raised by her grandparents, Clyde and Elizabeth Lorenzen and grew up and attended school in St. Thomas, ND. Judy was united in marriage to Terry Mattson on Dec. 26, 1970 in St. Thomas. The couple made their home in St. Thomas where she worked for Gilleshammer Farms. She later operated a daycare in her home.  Judy retired from the Life Skills and Transition Center after 25 years of service. She also tended bar in St. Thomas for 20 years.

She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and like spending time in her garden.

Judy is survived by her husband, Terry, St. Thomas, ND; her sons: Andy (Anna Martinez) and Matthew both of St. Thomas, ND; her grandson Mason; sisters: Jane (Herman) Barta and Mary (George “Buzz”) Burns, both of St. Thomas, ND and three half brothers and sisters. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with her dog Maci. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracey; son Terry Jr; biological mother, Della Osterdyk, grandparents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Social distancing and face masks are required. Interment will be at Landstad Cemetery, Auburn, ND in the spring. The funeral will be live streamed via Facebook at Tollefson Funeral Home, Inc.
