Joni Michele Okeson

Joni Michele Okeson, age 53 of Park River, ND passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Joni Michele Okeson was born August 1, 1958 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of JoAnn (Drevecky) Okeson and the late Milo Okeson. She grew up in rural Adams and graduated from Adams High School. She then attended and graduated from Aaker's Business College. After graduation she worked various jobs in the area until she began working for Welch's Bakery, Park River. Most recently she had been working for Northern Valley Growers, Hoople. Joni was extremely proud of her daughter Tami and her grandson Corban was the light of her life. She was a very friendly person. She enjoyed playing pool and loved the outdoors. She was a member of the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and a former member of the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Church. Joni is survived by her daughter Tami (Jeff) Daley, Park River, ND; grandson Corban Daley, Park River, ND; mother JoAnn Okeson, Park River ND; brother Michael (Su Ellen) Okeson, Adams, ND; sister Jill (Tom) Mullen, Gardar, ND; nieces: Lindsay (Barret) Spoonland, Heather Okeson; nephew Ethan Okeson and great nephew Callahan Spoonland. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her father Milo and grandparents. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. at the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, ND. Visitation will be on Saturday from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Sunday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Cemetery.
