Jon M. Harlow

Jon M. Harlow, age 68 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Jon Marvin Harlow was born March 5, 1958 in Grafton, North Dakota, the son of the late Marvin and Ruby “Donna” (Borgen) Harlow. In 1978, with just one year of college at UND, Jon found his passion in internet technology while working at Bridgemen Creamery. He quickly realized that school was not for him. He was trained to be a computer programmer specific to a type of programming that was in demand at the time and his career took off from there. With the help of a recruiter along with his training, Jon moved to Eden Prairie, MN and Sidney, NE, where he worked for Cabela’s. Missing friends and family he decided to return to Grand Forks, ND where he was quickly hired at Acme Tools. He loved the latest innovations and was obsessed with the newest gadgets.

Always optimistic, Jon focused on the positive side of his challenges with humor, bringing light, love and laughter into our lives. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. He loved to spoil and dote on them, becoming a favorite uncle to many of them.

Jon is survived by his siblings: Jeff, Mike (Lori), Melanie (Ric), Kathi (Pat), Steve, KrisAnn (Keith), Lisa (Robert), and Jay (Wendy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a grand-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Donna, brothers, Randy and Tim, niece Stephanie and great grand-nephew Kholston.

Inurnment will be held at the Grafton City Cemetery. A graveside gathering will be held at a later date.
