John Bartuska

John Bartuska, age 87 of Park River, ND passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. John Bartuska was born April 16, 1924 on the family farm near Conway, ND, the son of the late John and Rose (Jedlicka) Bartuska. He was a life-long Walsh County resident and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. During the last decades of his life, he was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. He was united in marriage to Rose Dub on November 11, 1947 at the St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pisek, ND. John is survived by his wife Rose, and their five children: Betty (Lewis) Hodny, Gillette, WY; Holly (Leon) Pherson, West Fargo, ND; Susan (Paul) Hendrickson, Colfax, ND; Jack (Carolyn) Bartuska, Forest River, ND; Cindy (Larry) Schwartz, West Fargo, ND; his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Park River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River.
