Joey William Eide

Joey W. Eide, age 55 of Grafton, North Dakota, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Joey William Eide was born May 22, 1967 in Rolla, North Dakota, the son of Ben and Mary Jo (Lagasse) Eide.  He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Fargo. He resided at home with his parents in Fargo until October 1988 when he was placed in a group home in Fargo.  In April 1990, Joey was admitted to LSTC in Grafton and in May 1991, he was placed in a Community Living Program in Fargo.  This did not work out for Joey and was readmitted to LSTC in September 1991.  He then went to Friendship in Fargo in May 1993.  Joey was admitted to LSTC in Grafton in January 1999 where he continued to make his home until the time of his death.

He loved going to church where he would ask “I have two priests today.”  Joey enjoyed his job at the Trophy Store in Grafton.  He enjoyed coffee club and visiting with his parents.  Joey loved his John Deere toy tractors, bison and buffalo blankets.  He loved to feed the chipmunks at the lake and feeding the squirrels that he named Laurel and Hardy. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and church.  He loved being the center of attention.  He loved going on adventures with his friend Jenn and Ava.  He was active in church and was the person that would lead the people served with “Our Father” prayer.

Joey will be missed by many; he made a special bond with each employee that worked with him.  He planted many memories in our hearts forever at the LSTC.

Joey is survived by his parents, Ben and Mary Jo Eide, Fargo, ND and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle, Bernard Dolan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:45 P.M. at the All Faith’s Chapel, Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at the All Faith’s Cemetery, Grafton in the spring.
