Joel A. Lindell

Joel A. Lindell, age 67 of Hoople, ND passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Joel A. Lindell was born October 10, 1942 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Joseph E. and Selma (Amundson) Lindell. He was raised on the family farm near Hoople where he has resided his entire life. He graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND in 1960 and graduated from UND in 1964 with a degree in Accounting. He returned home and started working for Bremer Bank. After his retirement he became the caregiver for his parents until they passed away. Joel loved to travel and time at his lake home with his family. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. A former member of the Hvideso Lutheran Church, served as treasurer of the Hvideso Lutheran Cemetery Association and served as a Dundee township officer. He is survived by his siblings: Ivonne (Earl) Lee, Grand Forks, ND; Jerry Lindell, Hoople, ND; four nieces: Vicky (Tim) Straub, Grand Forks, ND; Janet (Michael) Martell, Grand Forks, ND; Rebecca Lee, Apple Valley, MN; Diane Lee, Apple Valley, MN; an aunt Beatrice Amundson; two uncles: Melvin Amundson and Kenneth Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Interment will be at the Hvideso Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople.
