Joanie Silewski

Joanie Silewski, 52, of Grafton, N.D., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at her home in Grafton. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Gerald and Sandra Schumacher in Duluth, Minn. on July 28, 1961. Silewski was a 1979 graduate of Duluth Central High School and moved to Grafton in the same year. She attended Josef's School of Hair Design in Grand Forks and worked as a licensed beautician at Hair Kamp in Grafton for several years. She married the love her life, John Silewski, in 1982 at St. John's Catholic Church in Grafton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra; her grandparents, Wesley (Mary) Kunst and Fred and Helen Schumacher; and niece, Whitney Schuster. She is survived by her husband, John; her children, Melissa (Dallas) Davidson, Fargo, Christopher (Ingrid) Silewski, Denver, Brittney (Eric) Hanson, Duluth, and Derek Silewski, Grand Forks; her father, Gerald Schumacher, Grafton, ND; sisters, Deanna M. Priley, Duluth, Julie (Randy) Schuster, Drayton, N.D., Suzanne (Kenneth) Nelson and Michelle 'Mickey' Schumacher both of Grafton; and two grand children, Mya and Jasmin. Nieces and Nephews also survive. VISITATION will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tollefson Funeral Home, 154 West 12th Street, in Grafton. A prayer service will be held Monday evening at 7:00 PM. FUNERAL services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 334 W 15th Street, in Grafton.
