Jerome W. Pilon

Jerome W. Pilon, 90 of East Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Oakwood, ND passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Grand Forks. Jerome William Pilon was born March 3, 1924 in St. Andrew's Township, Walsh County, ND the son of the late Emay and Delphine (Collette) Pilon. He grew up and attended school in St. Andrew's Township. Jerome was united in marriage to Mae Belle Jean Rivard on October 9, 1946 in Oslo, MN. The couple lived and farmed in St. Andrew's Township until retiring in 1980. They enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. Mae Belle passed away on October 17, 1985. Jerome married Lois Breniser on February 24, 1990 and they made their home on the farm. She passed away on May 9, 2004. Jerome continued to make his home on the family farm. Jerome was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood, the Grafton Knights of Columbus and served as a director of the Walsh County Mutual Insurance Company. He is survived by his children: Msgr. Daniel Pilon, Mayville, ND; James (Donna) Pilon, Thompson, ND; Shirley (Arlyn) Johnson, Red Lake Falls, MN; Jean (Kevin) Holter, Cummings, ND; David (Shelly) Pilon, Grand Forks, ND: Robert (Joni) Pilon, Grafton, ND; Terry (Pat) Pilon, Grafton, ND; Charles (Mary Beth) Pilon, Fargo, ND; Joan Pilon, Arlington, TX; Peggy (Mike) Molstad, Grand Forks, ND; Kathy (Peter) Juergensen, Satellite Beach, FL, 20 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his brother, Francis (Lenore) Pilon, Baxter, MN and sister-in-law, Flora Pilon, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, brother Oliver, sister Regina and two granddaughters: McKenzie and Cydney. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
