Jerome Carriere

Jerome A. Carriere, age 67 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home after a short battle with cancer.

Jerome was born May 1, 1955 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the son of the late Arthur and Mary Anna (Cuno) Carriere. He grew up and attended schools in Red Lake Falls, graduating from Red Lake Falls High School in 1973. He then attended the Alexandria Vocational Technical Institute for truck driving. Jerome worked for various long haul trucking companies which took him all over North America. He started at Tri-Campbell Farms in March of 1987 until 1997. This was where he met his future wife. Jerome was united in marriage to Angela (Angie) Johnson on September 16, 1995 in Grafton. They made their home with their son Nathan in rural Grafton. He worked for Strata Concrete, TransSystem and M Bar D. After retiring from M Bar D he worked for Fricke Farms.

Jerome enjoyed spending time hunting, traveling, gunsmithing, snowmobiling, and working on cars.

Jerome is survived by his wife Angie, son Nathan, Grand Forks, ND; siblings: Carol (Rob) Larson, Red Lake Falls, MN, Jim Carriere, Grygla, MN, John Carriere, Pelican Rapids, MN, Vincent Carriere, Red Lake Falls, MN, Rose (Dan) Noyes, Bristol, SD, Martha (Jim) Newquist, Crookston, MN; mother-in-law Mardell Johnson; brother and sister-in-laws: Greg (Marla) Johnson, West Fargo, ND, Roger (Kathy) Johnson, Fargo, ND, Joel (Rebecca) Johnson, Burnsville, MN, Joan (Pat) Reis Bismarck, ND, Patty (Tyler) Rae, Red Lodge, MT, Diane (Rian) Lee, Argusville, ND, Cyril Johnson, Grafton, ND, Christine (Allan) Fisher, Loretto, MN, Daniel Johnson, Red Lodge, MT; as well as many adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents; Father-in-law Allen Johnson; brother Steven (Chopper) Carriere and infant sister Monica Carriere.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Red Lake Falls, MN in the spring.
