Jeffery Mark Hajicek, age 54 of Grafton met the Master Carpenter after an auto accident took his life on Saturday, February 21, 2009 near Grafton.
Jeffery Mark Hajicek was born December 16, 1954 in Grafton, ND the son of Laddie and Marian (Moen) Hajicek. He grew up and attended school in Park River, ND, graduating in 1973. He later attended Valley City State College. Following his education he started working for Elmo Setness in Park River as a carpenter. He later worked in Indiana, Williston, ND; Bismarck, ND, California, Colorado and in 2004 moved back to Grafton where he worked as a self-employed carpenter.
He was a member of the former Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church near Park River. Jeff loved to hunt and through the years became an outstanding carpenter.
He loved his family deeply and his absence will leave a void that can never be filled, as he has taken a part of us with him.
Jeff's memory lives on in his mother, Marian Hajicek, Grafton, ND; his children: Tyson (Katie) Hajicek, Fargo, ND; Cassie (Trent) Chwialkowski, Wasilla, AK; two grandchildren: James and Julia Hajicek, six siblings: Doug (Donna) Koch, Egeland, ND; Ingrid Koch (Jack Berry), Middleton, WI; Gary (Sonya) Hajicek, Grafton, ND; Laurie Foseide (Jerry Loftsgard), Edinburg, ND; Carole (Kelly) DeMars, Warren, MN; John (Kristy) Hajicek, Grafton, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Laddie, an infant brother David, maternal grandparents: Henry and Inga Moen and paternal grandparents: James and Frances Hajicek.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Park River.
