Jean P. Levang

Jean P. Levang, age 60 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Jean Patricia Olafson was born December 20, 1952 in Park River, ND the daughter of Magnus and Lois (Flanagan) Olafson. She attended schools in Gardar and Edinburg, graduating from Edinburg High School in 1970. She received as Associates Degree from the University of North Dakota. Jean was united in marriage to Irv Levang on July 20, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg where the couple made their home. Jean worked for various defense contractors at the Cavalier Air Station and was currently working for BAE Systems at the time of her death. Jean was a member of the Pembina Hills Lutheran Church of Gardar and was active in the WELCA there. She is survived by her husband, Irv of Edinburg, ND; children: Jolene (Steve) Panciocco, Chaska, MN and Chris Levang, St. Louis Park, MN; two granddaughters: Emily and Lauryn Panciocco, her father, Magnus "Mike" Olafson, Mountain, ND; two brothers: Larry Olafson, Edinburg, ND and Robert Olafson, West St. Paul, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her mother Lois Olafson. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Gardar Cemetery, Gardar, ND.
