Jean L. Collette, age 84 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at her daughter's home in Moorhead, MN. Jean L. Fiedler was born January 17, 1931 at the family farm near Bathgate, ND, the daughter of the late Frank Albert and Edith (Gurke) Fiedler. She grew up and graduated high school in Bathgate. She then attended Valley City State University where she earned her teaching degree. Following her education she moved to Grafton where she taught grade school until she was united in marriage to Robert Collette on June 14, 1957 in Bathgate, ND. The couple made their home in Minot for 12 years before returning to Grafton. Upon her return, she began working at the Developmental Center until she retired in 1995. Robert passed away on March 4, 2013. She continued to make Grafton her home until her death. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. She enjoyed drawing, reading, watching TV, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean is survived by her children: Michael (Sara Savage) Collette, Minneapolis, MN, Robert (Terry) Collette, CA, Gayle Peltier, Grafton, ND, Lisa (Dan) Le, Moorhead, MN, Kristi (Benny) Martinez, Minneapolis, MN, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Mary Beth Lietz, grandson Joshua David Collette, 1 brother and 1 sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at the St. John's Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
