Janet L. Moreland

Janet L. Moreland, age 68 of Gilby, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at her home in Gilby. Janet L. Haugen was born August 5, 1943 in Karlstad, MN the daughter of the late Julius and Alvina (Prindle) Haugen. She attended schools in Karlstad, Inkster and Gilby, ND. She was united in marriage to Russell Moreland on June 3, 1962 in Inkster, ND. The couple made their home near Gilby. Janet worked as a RCT at the Grafton Developmental Center for many years. She later worked as a CNA at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks and also worked at Tufte Manor and Walmart, retiring in 2008. Janet is survived by her husband Russell, Inkster, ND; children: Mary Moreland, Grand Forks, ND; Allen (Dorothy) Moreland, Gilby, ND; James (Tami) Moreland, Manvel, ND; Liz (David) Papenfuss, Mandan, ND; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and siblings: Helen (Arlynn) McFarland, Grafton, ND; Diane Peterka, Grand Forks, ND; Elaine Nelson, Northwood, ND; Annette (David) Costello, Oshgosh, WI; Dawn Haugen, Hillsboro, ND; Richard (Debra) Haugen, Inkster, ND. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Palmer. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Forest River Community Church. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Forest River Cemetery.
