Janet A Dusterhoft

Janet Dusterhoft, 73, of Minto, ND passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Janet Ann Dusterhoft was born September 25, 1947 in Grafton, ND to Victor and Louise (Hartje) Dusterhoft. She was raised in St. Thomas and married James Degenstein in 1964. After the winter of 1966, they moved to Tacoma, WA. Janet was a stay at home mom and went to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma. In May of 1979 she moved back to ND and settled in Minto, with her life partner, Willie Knaus.  Janet worked for K-Mart, Lutheran Sunset Home, Marvin Windows and most recently, Cenex in Minto.

She is survived by her daughters: LouAnn (Troy) Brunsven, Columbus, ND; Lisa (Kevin) Sitler, Xenia, OH; Brenda Degenstein (Tim Clouchie), Valley City, ND; Carrie (Andy) Daley, Warsaw, ND; life partner, Willie Knaus, Minto, ND; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; siblings: Donald Dusterhoft, Buena Park, CA; Donna Siewert, Drayton,ND; Eleanor Reopelle, Springfield, OR. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Loren Dusterhoft, Verna Walls, Beverly Dancses and Marlys Dusterhoft.

A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
