Jane M. Narveson, age 93, of Grafton, ND passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Jane M. Lambert was born July 14, 1918 in Red Lake Falls, MN, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Cesarie (Boucher) Lambert. She grew up and graduated high school there. Following her education, she received her teaching certificate and taught for several years at a local country school. She later moved to Mt. Clemens, MI where she was a clerk at a Krouger's Store. She was united in marriage to Norvald Narveson on August 18, 1942 in Mt. Clemens, MI and the couple made their home there for several years. In 1948, the couple moved to Grand Forks, ND and then to Grafton in 1949. While in Grafton, she worked as a secretary for Narveson Insurance Co., and later as a bookkeeper and clerk for Earl's Shoe Store and Herbel's Shoe Store until retiring in 1984. Following her retirement she volunteered at various stores in the Grafton Area. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, St. John's Altar Society, and St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She is survived by her sons: Dale (Rose) Narveson, Grafton, ND, Mark Narveson, San Francisco, CA, sister May Heese, Rochester, MN, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norvald, infant son Bernard, brothers: Leo, Vern, Edward, Dennis, Thomas, Joseph and sisters: Dora, Agnes, Alexine, Rose, and Eunice. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church of Grafton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
