Jana Kay Lindblad

Jana Kay Lindblad, 52, of Grafton, ND, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle against cancer. Jana Kay Olson was born October 25, 1960 in Cavalier, ND, the daughter of Robert and Patricia "Kay" (Johnson) Olson. Jana grew up on the family farm near Glasston, ND and attended school and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1978. On July 26, 1980, she was united in marriage to Keith Lindblad at the United Methodist Church in Drayton, ND. The couple lived on a farm near Veseleyville, ND before relocating to Grafton in 1991. Jana held various jobs at the Pembina County Memorial Nursing Home in Cavalier, Kerian Machine in Grafton, and the State Developmental Center in Grafton, before becoming an employee at the United States Postal Service in Grafton. She continued to work at the Post Office for 23 years before her illness forced her to retire. Jana was an accomplished pianist, often composing her own music, and developed a passion for bowling after her daughters grew up and moved out of the house. She was proud to be an officer on the local bowling board. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, following them wherever she could, whether it be at an actual game, on the television, or on the radio. Jana also cherished spending time with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. Jana is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Keith; daughters: Lisa (Mitch) Nelson, and Kayla Lindblad, both of Grafton, ND; parents Bob and Kay Olson, Glasston, ND; siblings: Jacki Kuehnel (Tim Patridge), Grand Forks, ND; Jay Olson, Glasston, ND; and Juli (Ryan) Olufson, St. Paul, MN; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and grandson, Bailey Alan Nelson. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery of Drayton, ND.
