James E. Bailey

James E. Bailey, age 79 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his home in Grafton. James E. Bailey was born February 14, 1936 in Walker, MN the son of the late Loren and Ella (Pelkey) Bailey. He grew up and attended schools in Fargo, ND, graduating from Fargo Shanley in 1954. He attended NDSU in Fargo for a time. He was united in marriage to Marlys Aaland on August 17, 1963 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo, ND. The couple moved to Scottsdale, AZ where he attended Arizona State, Tempe. In 1971 the couple moved to Grafton and he started working for Aaland Potato Company in Hoople, ND in 1972. He retired from there in 2013. Jim was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Marlys, Grafton, ND; children: Michael Bailey, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Mark Bailey, Lakeville, MN; Todd (Ann) Bailey, Pierre, SD and Kim Bailey (Chad Richau), Grand Forks, ND; three grandchildren: Ryne, Nolan and Korynn Richau, his siblings: Mary Ann (Don) Urness, Fargo, ND; Carol (Duane) Christianson, Boise, ID; Larry (Carolyn) Bailey, Fargo, ND; Darlene (John) Stafne, Sartell, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rod and sister Linda. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:15 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hoople City Cemetery, Hoople, ND.
