Isabelle Matcha

Isabelle Matcha, age 86 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at the MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. Isabelle Schultz was born June 19, 1923 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Otto and Cora (Tanke) Schultz. She attended and graduated from Minto High School. After graduation Isabelle worked at various jobs. Isabelle married Charles Matcha January 13, 1944 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton where they raised their family. Charles passed away September 28, 1985. Isabelle loved to read, crochet, sew, cook and bake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Grafton VFW Auxiliary since 1949. Isabelle is survived by her children: Susan (Allyn) Roley, Warren, MN; Charla (George) Nelson, Grafton, ND; Tom (Sharon) Matcha, Grafton, ND; Peter (Joann) Matcha, Grafton, ND; Frank (SooJe) Matcha, South Haven, MS; Mae (Keith) Lindenberg, Grafton, ND; Alyce (Jim) Thompson, Grafton, ND; Michael (Sue) Matcha, Grafton, ND; John Matcha, Grafton, ND; 28 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and brother Wayne (Joanne) Schultz, Plummer, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Joseph, two grandchildren: Paul and Larissa, brother Donald, and sister Sylvia. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with at prayer service at 7:00 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
