Isabel Almond

Isabel Almond, age 100 of Grafton, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Isabel Ramusson was born May 10, 1912 in Pine Creek, MN the daughter of the late Alfred and Matilda (Gryde) Rasmusson. She attended rural schools there. Isabel was united in marriage to Arlie Almond on October 25, 1930 in Roseau, MN. The couple lived and farmed near Crystal, ND until 1958 when they moved to Grafton. She later worked on the Bookmobile for Carnegie Regional Library. Arlie passed away January 15, 1985. Isabel continued to make her home in Grafton until her death. She is survived by her son; Charles Almond (Carolyn Edwards), Grafton, ND; seven grandchildren: Cathy (Bill) Jacobsen, Sioux Falls, SD; Angie Almond, Grand Forks, ND; Jaymes Almond, Grafton, ND; Frank Dolney, Grafton, ND; Arlen Dolney, Grafton, ND; Pamela (David) Edevold, Bagley, MN; Marge (Craig) Askim, Beulah, ND; 11great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, brother George (Anna) Rasmusson, Badger, MN and special friend and caregiver Helen Nord, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, D. Maida Myers, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
