Irene Ruzicka

Irene Ruzicka, age 94 of Fargo formerly of Voss, ND passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Manor Care Nursing facility, Fargo, ND. Irene Ruzek was born February 10, 1917 in Lankin, ND, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Vonasek) Ruzek. She attended school in the Lankin area. She was united in marriage to Charles C Ruzicka on August 12, 1941 in Veselyville, ND. The couple made their home in the Voss area. Irene and Charles had two children, Charles E. and Shirley. Charles C. passed away April 23, 1973. Irene continued to make her home in the Voss area until she moved to Fargo in 2005. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. She will be remembered as a generous and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her enjoyable hobby, baking and cooking will long be remembered by those with whom she so generously shared. Her faith in God provided her with a life-long, positive attitude and zeal for life. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society, Minto, ND. Irene is survived by her son Charles E. (Barbara) Ruzicka, Fargo, ND; daughter Shirley (Gerald) Osendorf, Melrose, MN; grandchildren: Todd Ruzicka, Fargo, ND; Tami (Marshall) Kilzer, Fargo, ND; Amy (Craig) Coil, Forest Lake, MN; Melissa (Michael) Allard, Blaine, MN; Dawn Osendorf, Bloomington, MN; Rachel Osendorf, St. Cloud, MN; Great Grandchildren: Grace Ruzicka, Llandudno, Wales, UK; Madeleine and Barrett Kilzer, West Fargo, ND and Faith Coil, Forest Lake, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Friends may call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery, Veselyville, ND. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Hospice of the Red River Valley.
