Howard Watt, age 91 of Fargo, ND and formerly of Osnabrock, ND passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home of Fargo.
Howard Bruce Watt was born August 3, 1926 in Osford Township of Cavalier County, ND the son of the late W. George and Annie Gladys (Bruce) Watt. He attended school in Osford Township and Milton High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Philippines from 1945-1946. Following his discharge he returned home and married Mary Ann Johnson on July 27, 1952 in Osnabrock. The couple lived in Racine, WI for a year before returning home to farm. The couple later owned and operated the Barley Bin Café in Osnabrock. Howard drove anhydrous tanks for Harvest States Elevator until the age of 80. Mary Ann passed away in October of 1996. Howard moved to Villa Maria in October of 2012.
He was a member of the Dovre Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and served as council president as well as parish president. He served as president of the Osnabrock School Board and was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Osnabrock American Legion and Osford Township Board.
He is survived by his children: Dwayne (Jan) Watt, Bartlesville, OK and Sandra Arntson (Rick Morris), Moorhead, MN; five grandchildren: Kellen, Shawn, Paige, Erin, and Richard and two great grandchildren: Klohee and Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Ronald.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Dovre Lutheran Church, Osnabrock, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Milton Memorial Cemetery, Milton, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Osnabrock and Milton American Legion Posts and the United States Naval Honor Guard.
