Helen Moe, age 92 of Edinburg, ND passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Helen Sveen was born May 21, 1922 in Penn, ND, the daughter of the late John and Magdalena (Anderson) Sveen. She graduated from High School in 1941 and attended Mayville State Teacher's College from 1941 to 1943, receiving her Teacher's Certificate. She began working at Highland School, Nekoma and her last school was Dundee School. She taught at six schools in North Dakota and six schools in Minnesota, mainly teaching third grade. Helen was united in marriage to Edward Moe on December 26, 1950 in Edinburg, ND. The couple made their home on the family farm where Helen stayed home to raise her four sons. They continued to make their home on the family farm until Edward moved to the Good Samaritan Center and Helen moved into Park River. She later moved to the Good Samaritan Center. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hvideso Lutheran Church and WELCA and was a founding member of the Edinburg Legion Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her sons: Loren (Debbie) Moe, Edinburg, ND; Leslie (Linda) Moe, West Fargo, ND; Roger (Connie) Moe, Park River, ND; daughter-in-law, Dawn Moe, Grand Forks, ND; brother, John "Nic" (Maxine) Sveen, Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son Lyle, a grandson and siblings: Ernest and Hazel. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 15, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg, ND. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Good Samaritan Center and for being a part of her life.
