Helen L. Eaton

Helen L. Eaton, age 97 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Helen L. Wilbrecht was born January 29, 1916 in Canada, the daughter of the late Adolph and Julia Wilbrecht. She grew up and attended school at Campbell, MN. Following her education she moved to St. Paul, MN and she worked as an aide at the hospital. Helen was united in marriage to Lester C. Eaton on October 12, 1940 in St. Paul, MN. The couple lived in Fergus Falls, MN, Walhalla, ND and Minto, ND before moving to Grafton in 1943. In the late sixties and early 1970's she worked as an aide at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton. She was a member of the Grafton Federated Church and Ladies Aide and was a member of the Unity Hospital Auxiliary. Helen is survived by her children: Judy (William) Gach, Avon Lake, OH David Eaton, Portage, MI; five grandchildren: Debra (Victor) Strimbu, Shane (Denette) Zinke, Tara (Ryan) Wojtowicz, Casey (David) Koch, David J. "DJ" Eaton, six great grandchildren: Victor, Zachary, Dana, Jillian, Alexander and Edward; brother, Lester Wilbrecht, Mexico; sisters, Inez Moore, Rosholt, SD and Carol Rufer, Mishawaka, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester on July 24, 1988, son Charles on Dec. 22, 2005, brothers: Don, Eldon, Earl and Lloyd and sister Phyllis. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
