Heather Lien

Heather Lien, age 44, of Vancouver, WA, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away unexpectedly March 25, 2019 at her home in Vancouver of blood clots in her lungs.

Heather Lien was born May 7, 1974 in Park River, ND, the daughter of Gary and Vicki (Myhre) Lien.  She grew up in Grand Forks, ND where she graduated from Central High School in 1992 and from the University of North Dakota in 1996 with a degree in Math and French.  Following her graduation she transferred with Target to Vancouver in 1997.  After leaving Target her career switched to banking institutions.  At the time of her death she was employed with Wells Fargo Bank, Portland, OR, as a Financial Crimes Investigator.

She was a very artistic person in arts and crafts.  She enjoyed crocheting and other types of crafts.  She was often asked by co-workers to make crocheted items for them.  Family members were often gifted with these items.  She had enough craft supplies to fill a store.  Reading books was a passion from a very young age, her Nook reader was never very far away.  She was also very computer savvy and had immense patience when asked by her computer illiterate family members for help.  Wining at Trivial Pursuit was quite easy and her cousins knew they would not win if she was playing.  She really like the French culture and a trip to Paris in 2006 was one of the highlights of her life.  She was a member of the Edinburg American Legion Auxiliary.

Heather will be greatly missed by her parents, Gary and Vicki Lien, Grand Forks, ND and brother, Perry Lien, Grand Forks, ND.  She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Loved ones that joyfully welcomed Heather in Heaven are her grandparents:  Roy and Juanita Myhre and Russell and Lila Lien, uncle, Jerry Englerth, uncle, Steve Myhre, cousin, Christopher Myhre and beloved dog, Ozzie.

Memorial services will be Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
