Harold A. Gullickson, age 66 of Hoople, ND passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his home near Hoople after a long illness. Harold A. Gullickson was born December 5, 1943 in Grafton, ND the son of Leonard and Lyla (Knutson) Gullickson. He attended school in Hoople and graduated from Hoople High School in 1962. Following his graduation he went to California. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He married Marla Haner in 1965 in Aurora, CO. The couple returned to Hoople. Harold enrolled at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND where he received a degree in Radio and TV technology. He worked for Oden and Zimmbalman TV and Appliance in Madison, MN for nine years. He moved back to Hoople and started Hoople Radio and TV. In 1980 Harold started working for Simplot Soil Builders in Hoople. He married Alice Odegard on March 3, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. The couple made their home in Hoople. He retired from Simplot in 2005. Harold was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Hoople American Legion Post. He is survived by his wife Alice of Hoople, ND; children: Carrie (David) Lietz, West Fargo, ND; Deborah (Dean) Braathen, Hoople, ND; Melissa (Scott) LeClerc, Grafton, ND; step-children: Angela (Nick) Eppert, Goshen, IN; Jason (Sarah) Odegard, Reynolds, ND; his mother Lyla Gullickson, Hillsboro, ND; siblings: Jane (Les) Hurt, Hillsboro, ND; Loren (Valery) Gullickson, Hoople, ND; Curtis (Terry) Gullickson, Hoople, ND. Ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and brothers: Dwight and Mark. Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church of Hoople, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hoople City Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Hoople American Legion Post.
