Harlan Paulson

Harlan D. Paulson, age 78 of Edinburg, ND died Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Harlan D. Paulson was born March 30, 1930 in Montrose Township of Cavalier County, ND the son of the late Herman and Laufey (Bergman) Paulson. He attended rural school there. Following his education he worked as a farm laborer. Harlan served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict serving from 1951-1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Harlan was united in marriage to Muriel Puhler on June 13, 1954 at the Milton Presbyterian Church. The couple lived in Edinburg, ND where he worked for Sig Isfeld Farms. He was later employed by Orlin Nelson as a mechanic at the I-H Garage.  In 1961 Harlan purchased his first quarter of land. He continued to work as a mechanic and farmed. He later purchased more land and was able to fulfill his dream of being a full-time farmer. In 1975 the couple built their new farm home in Montrose Township.

Harlan was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, the Davidson American Legion Post of Edinburg and was an active member of the Hilltop Senior Citizens in Milton, ND. He served on the Farmers Elevator Board. Harlan was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Harlan is survived by his wife Muriel, Edinburg, ND; daughter Marla (Jeff) Colton, Long Prairie, MN; two grandchildren: Kaye and Sean Colton, Long Prairie, MN; sister Vivian (Otto) Hoel, Langdon, ND and brother Robert (Marilyn) Paulson, Milton, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bill, Percy and Lloyd.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the Church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Milton Memorial Cemetery, Milton, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Davidson American Legion Post of Edinburg.

The Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg is in charge of the arrangements.
