Guy Edward DeMers

Guy Edward DeMers, age 63, of Oakwood, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in a car accident near Oakwood.

Guy Edward DeMers was born November 29, 1962 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Myron DeMers and Shirley (LeClerc) DeMers. He grew up in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and Valley City, North Dakota, graduating from Valley City High in 1981. He attended Minnesota State Moorhead and Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona. He wintered in Grand Junction, Colorado and summered at the family farmstead near Oakwood which he soundly enjoyed.

He survived by his father, Myron DeMers, Oakwood, ND; his mother, Shirley (LeClerc) DeMers, Lakewood, CO; three brothers: Mike DeMers, Golden Shores, AZ, Scott (Delilah) DeMers, Lakewood, CO, John DeMers, Golden CO and sister, Pam (Dave) Buchholz, Greenwood, IN; nephews: Isaac Buchholz and Samuel DeMers and nieces: Rachel Buchholz, Maris, Paisley and Hendrix DeMers, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins in and around the area.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Oakwood. Guy’s Funeral will be livestreamed on the Tollefson Funeral Home website.
