Greg D. Ellingson

Gregory (Bear) Dean Ellingson, 65, rural Park River, ND passed away Friday evening, November 1, 2024 at First Care Health Center of Park River.

Greg lived his entire life in Park River and was a Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Neighbor, and Friend to many.  He loved anything to do with the outdoors and it showed in how he treated his land and many critters. For anyone fortunate enough to stroll through Greg’s land, you would know he was a true Steward of the Land.

Greg was born February 19, 1959 to Ray and Velma (Newby) Ellingson of Park River.  Greg worked for Qwest/Century Link as an Installation Repair Technician for over 20 years, then later operated a backhoe and drove truck for various farmers in the area.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, brothers Darrel and Keith, sister Ginger Suda, and two nephews Joe Suda and Ken Ellingson. He is survived by his sons; Jeremy Kartes (Kelly Hobbs), Crystal, ND, Tyrel (Kristan), Grafton, ND, Logan (Elizabeth), Harwood, ND; daughters: Chrysti (Brandon) Neilson, Williston, ND, and Susan Daniel, Jamestown, ND; brothers: Stan, Jamestown, ND, Larry (Dawn), Parker, CO, Bruce, Park River, ND; sisters: Deanna E. Claire, Fargo, ND and Deb (Robert) Anderson, Hoople, ND; 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Greg requested no service and his family is honoring his wish.  Blessed be Greg’s memory.
