Gloris J Larson

Gloris J. Larson, age 87 of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Lutheran Sunset Home after a valiant battle with cancer.

Gloris J. Erlanson was born June 16, 1931 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Gilbert and Helga (Gullickson) Erlanson. She attended rural school near Hoople and graduated from Grafton High School. Gloris was united in marriage to Richard Larson on September 9, 1949 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Grafton. The couple made their home in Grafton. Gloris worked as a bookkeeper for Kimball Brothers, Home Gas, and Oak Ridge Turkey Farm. In 1982 she started working as the site manager for the Walsh County Nutrition Program-Grafton site and worked there until her health forced her to retire in 2015 at age 84. Gloris often said her social life was her family and the senior meals program.

Gloris was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Gloris had an unwavering faith. She was devoted to her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved holidays, cooking, and baking and was known to let the grandkids have cookies for breakfast! She enjoyed summer getaways, playing cards, rummage sales, and playing the piano and accordion.

Gloris is survived by her children: Larry (Tami) Larson, Edinburg, ND; Dean (Joyce) Larson, Gill, CO; Brad (Kathy) Larson, Grafton, ND; Tracy (Colin Hirdman) Larson, Minneapolis, MN; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard on Feb. 20, 2019, sister, Marie Jacobson and infant brother, Gordon Leroy.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople, ND in the spring.
