Glenn A Markel

Glenn A Markel, age 69 of Park River, ND passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Glenn Alan Markel was born February 7, 1947 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Joe and Lodifa (Rieger) Markel. He grew up and attended school in Hoople, ND. Following his education he served in the United States Army from 1967-1969. Upon his discharge he returned to Hoople where he worked for John Carson Farms and Midgarden Farms. Glenn was united in marriage to Cathy Pladson in 1980 in Hoople. Glenn retired in 1995 and moved to Park River in 2011.

Glenn is survived by his children: Kari (Keith) Mecham, Fargo, ND; David Markel, Fargo, ND and Joseph Markel, Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren: Shelby and Levi Mecham; his brother, Stanley Markel, Park River, ND and sister, Kay Atkins, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.
