Glenn E. Erickson

Glenn E. Erickson age 94, a lifelong resident of Adams, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 09, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Glenn E. Erickson was born May 19, 1916 in Adams, ND the son of the late Charlie and Tilda (Rudd) Erickson. He grew up and attended school in Adams graduating in 1934. Following his education he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corp in western North Dakota and Minnesota. He served in the United States Army from April 1942- October 1945, serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. Following his discharge he returned to Adams and started working for Harry Geary in the Bar in Adams. Glenn was united in marriage to Doris Geary on February 3, 1949 in Grand Forks. The couple made their home in Adams. In 1960 he purchased the bar from his father-in-law. He owned and operated the bar until retiring in 2002. Doris passed away on June 8, 1985. Glenn was a member of the Mountain Lutheran Church and the Qually-Dvorak American Legion Post in Adams, ND. He is survived by his children: Jody Erickson, Adams, ND; Lori Erickson, Denver, CO; John Erickson, Escondido, CA; sisters: Delayne (Doug) King, Colbert, WA; Violet Clavert, Springfield, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and infant daughter Julie, two sisters: Charlotte and Anna and four brothers: Leonard, Ed, Olai, and Mamford. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the West Adams Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Qually-Dvorak American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
