Glenn W Coulthart

Glenn W. Coulthart, age 84 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Wednesday, April 09, 2014 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Glenn W. Coulthart was born January 23, 1930 in St. Thomas, ND, the son of the late Elmer and Ida (Johnson) Coulthart. He grew up and attended school in the Grafton area. He worked for Schumacher and Son's for a short time before serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the service, he was united in marriage to Hazel Haug on April 19, 1952 in Grafton, ND. Following his discharge, he returned to Grafton and later moved to Cavalier, ND where he began working for Wilson Brothers. In 1963 the couple moved to back to Grafton and he worked for Grafton Auto and Electric for a year before taking over as owner and operator of Mobil Oil until retiring in 1985. After his retirement, he spent his time at his hobby shop until moving into the Lutheran Sunset Home in February of 2013. He was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the Grafton V.F.W. Post #9367. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and playing Pinochle. He is survived by his wife Hazel, Grafton, ND, sons Wayne (Becky) Coulthart, Grafton, ND, Rick Coulthart, Minto, ND, grandchildren: Brian and Melissa Coulthart and Kyle and Kasey Dupree. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna Raknem. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rights will be provided by the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard and the Grafton American Legion Post #41. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Grafton Lutheran Radio Fund or the Lutheran Sunset Home.
